Some Recommended Applications: Shipping, carton and address labeling, small character and graphics printing with 300/400 dpi, general retail, industrial and apparel labeling, applications requiring moderate scratch and smear resistance.

Resin Ribbon
Excellent smudge and scratch resistance
UL/CSA recognized; meets FDA requirements for indirect food contact: heat resistant to 400oF
Provides transferability to polyester films, vinyl and PVC cards.

Some Recommended Applications: Steel tags, water heater labels, ID cards, automotive labels, drum labels, component labels, CD & Diskette labels, pharmaceutical labels and electronic labeling.

Depending upon the label quality and print life one needs to decide what ribbon he should be using. Generally the wax-based ribbons are priced low whereas the Resin is the most costly. Again it should suit the application for which the labels are being printed & the shelf life of the label with print on it.
